Andre Allen is Northwestern Ontario's most famous moose hunter. Known as "The Moose Hunter", he has been hunting moose successfully for over 45 years and his wife, Millie, shares his passion for all things moose. In the early 1980's he produced and distributed his first instructional moose hunting video entitled "The Moose Hunter". The 2 hour video features tips on calling, tracking, field dressing, and preparing moose meat with black pepper. It was this video tape that led to the creation of their unique sportshop "The Moose Hunter And Outfitters" which they operate from their home situated at 3123 Arthur St. W , 5 miles west of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The store specializes in hunting clothing, knives, and collectibles for the moose hunter, and receives visitors worldwide. If ever in Thunder Bay, you are invited to come and visit "The Moose Hunter".
Sportswriter, Gord Ellis writes that Andre Allen is a local hunting legend, who has even built two 16' wooden statues of himself and his wife in full moose hunting gear. These giant hunters stand guard at their store entranceway.
